hl2dm is actually fast paced if you know how to play it right.
read up on bhopping and strafe jumping for hl2dm.
I thought I was relatively good but someone went in the server and went like 40 kills and 0 deaths. He was also moving about the map faster than anyone else. I'm starting to get the hang of strafe jumping, which gets me around about 5x faster than the noobs.
if all you did was sprinted til it ran out and then recharged sprint you were doing it wrong.
XDM spoiled me in the sense that I start with weapons. I like having to hunt for weapons and HL2DM gives me that fix. If you are too lazy to get your own weapons and want to start off with everything, then sure, hl2dm is going to be slow and boring in the sense that you need to fill up / survive.
There's also object jumping, which gives you a speed boost and lets you jump higher. This is used with the gravity gun.
HL1 is old. It's time to move on.
i also played hl2dm pro about 2 years ago and they had a hand full of [empty] servers with very little population.
I just checked last night and there was only 1 server, empty, 8 slots.
HL2DM pro failed miserably.
HL2DM is hella fun unless you are too attached to a tau cannon and just can't separate yourself from it to try something new.
XDM2's tau cannon is ownage and 100x better than the tau in hl2dm pro. |

I don't need to be handed weapons as I play HLDM all the time, actually more than XDM.
Maybe I didn't play it right because I've only tried it a few times, but there's no denying that HL1 is a faster paced game. |

indeed hl1 is faster... esp. with tau
hldm is fun i play it here and there. having to work for weapons is fun
prob why xdm is so dead
but then again if we take off spawn with all weapons the noobs complain
at first HL2DM was slow and boring for me... but i just kept playing. once i got the hang of it, it became more fun.
especially when I see leets speeding through the maps. I only know of 2 or 3 servers that are good to play on for hl2dm so if you want i can post the IP's, but other then that, most hl2dm servers are low gravity because people like easy targets.
i steer clear of low grav or role play servers as i want nothing to do with them. |

Mebucko had our TWC server settings really nice back in the day, was pretty fast for a HL2 DM server. Was actually at one time one of the top servers in HL2DM. Sadly, everybody in TWC kinda disappeared never to be seen, tried to get ahold of people to no avail and apparently the server is gone too. |

I can honestly say I have yet to find another fps game with fluent movement that is in HL1, I guess thats why its been modded and is so popular for so long. |

the only thing i didn't like about twc server is that they made the sprint infinite.
what makes the game more challenging is that u have to let the sprint recharge |

hmm, that wasn't the usual for TWC server, sprint wasn't infinite.
there were a few TWC members that had their hands in the settings and would change the server per their liking, that used to piss me off. |

Hi All,
Im a longtime Usual Suspects Network forum member, although my knife & Panerai craze has dimmed and Ive just lurked occasionally over the last couple of years. I read about Bob & Broadarrow over there and consequently had to check this scene out.
What really sparked me joining was a pic I came across on the web of a Marathon CSAR, which I MUST OWN . One look at that watch has reignited my watch passions. So here I am, saving my and perusing the forums.
In the meantime Ill keep wearing my Panny Pam 89 GMT and my Omega Seamaster GMT...but I really want that Marathon
Also, Ive already purchased a few Mil-NATO bands and a BandWow from Bob, and it has been a great experience shopping from Broadarrow.
Cheers to all & see you on the forums....
